ABSTRACT
Small and medium-sized tourism enterprise have seen the emergence and popularity of worldwide electronic markets on the Internet as an opportunity to improve their competitive position. However, there are several barriers which prevent small hospitality organizations form taking advantage of IT and the Internet. This paper reports on an online reservation system which introduces Internet technology to a small hotel located in a region of Bogor as well as denotes a re-engineering of some of its business processes. The system, which features customer online reservation services, was a user-friendly, inexpensive solution especially designed for the purpose of small and medium-sized hospitality organizations with little prior IT knowledge.
